Chicago's motto, "Urbs in Horto" or "City in a Garden", was adopted in 1837. It even appears on our city seal! That perennial spirit continues right in our own backyard thanks to WEAR's residents. From homeowner parkway plots, to our member-fueled public gardens, to a single planter on a porch - our residents make these blocks particularly luscious and lovely.
After 30 years since the garden's creation, the area now known as the Anna & Horst Wagener WEAR Garden continues to be a shining example of collaborative, community gardening. This neighborhood asset is supported and cultivated by our dedicated WEAR residents.
